As far as the pocket pc devices go, there are several on the market that give the pocket pc a good name. One of these devices, however, is the BlackJack made by Samsung. This pocket pc is currently the most lightweight pocket pc on the market today, weighing just 3.5 ounces. With its cool look and sleek design it is also one of the most popular devices that pocket pc users have available to them. It definitely outranks T-mobile's Dash and the Motorola Q in the pocket pc genre and includes a lot of features that the other two do not.

Released by Samsung, the pocket pc is just over a half-inch thick and contains a 65,000 color screen display. It comes available in a jet-black color which is attractive for most pocket pc users. The phone definitely has an edge over the other leading brands and types of pocket pc devices. For starters, the QWERTY keyboard is completely backlit so that users will have no troubling trying to dial or type on their keyboard in the dark or in dim light. In addition, users can enjoy over 5 hours of talk time before the battery fails, as well as nearly 11 days of standby time. Of course, the BlackJack pocket pc also contains the Windows Mobile 5.0 edition, which is the latest edition for operating systems in the pocket pc device applications.

So what else makes this pocket pc so unique? One great feature about it is that it contains a 1.3 Megapixel digital camera with a 2 times digital zoom. That's a better digital camera than any standard cell phone camera on the market today and will allow for clarity and high resolution in the pictures that are taken. However, the BlackJack feels more like a cell phone even though it isn't. Because of it's slim design and cool look your pocket pc will be the envy of practically everyone around you. Additionally, if you are worried about storage, there's no need to be! On the right side of the BlackJack Samsung included a slot so that extra storage can be added if needed.

However, there are a couple complaints that pocket pc experts have voiced about the BlackJack by Samsung. First, the design for the QWERTY keyboard could have been a little better and more efficiently designed. The keys are oval-shaped and thin, which makes them difficult for any average person to press quickly and easily. Samsung decided to go with the new look of the oval-shaped keyboard buttons, but they could have done just as well with square or oblong-shaped buttons that are more comfortable to press. Another complaint that is voiced is the fact that there is no built-in WiFi connection other than the Cingular 3G network. Connecting to other wireless networks would have been icing on the cake, but Samsung decided not to include that technology.

However, the BlackJack is not lacking in anything else, especially not software. For starters, Windows Media Player 10 Mobile is included so that pocket pc owners can enjoy all of their multimedia files; also, an application called Picsel Viewer Suite is included so that Microsoft and PDF documents can be opened on your BlackJack. There's also an address book, of course, along with a bunch of the other standard pre-loaded applications, like a calculator and a calendar. The phone also supports mp3-quality ringtones. All in all, the Samsung BlackJack is definitely one of the hottest pocket pc devices in the industry today and it goes without saying that it'll be popular for years to come!
